Nail polish – The Gift that Keeps on Giving

Being in the workplace, I not only want my hands to look nice while I help customers, but if we are going to be honest, when I’m working at the computer I want to be able to look down and see something pretty, not unmanicured man hands. But going to get a manicure can be really time consuming, as well as expensive. So over time, I kind of made my own little manicure station.

It consists of a lot of different brands.  The one I probably have the most of is Sinful Colors.  (Scandalous for a Christian woman, I know) This brand is SUPER inexpensive.  We’re talking less than $2.00 a bottle at Meijer.  & they always have trendy colors.  Every time I go to the store I find a new SC that I love and usually end up getting since it is so cheap! But I really like SC because this stuff does not apply like cheap polish.  It goes on smooth & as long as I’m careful about putting the lid back on tightly, I have yet to have one dry out on me.

I also have my other two favorite brands, OPI and Essie.  One of my dearest friends, Meg, described her feelings towards OPI one day & I completely related to it.  She said that she had “grown up on OPI” & that’s why she favors it.  I completely agree with that statement.  My mom has always used OPI polish for as long as I can remember.  However, I will say that there is a strong chance Essie is winning me over because their smaller brush makes for a much easier paint and less polish gets on your skin.

As I mentioned, I’m a big advocate for polished nails in the workplace.  Not only do I think that even having a nude coat on your nails make them seem more professional and taken care of, but I also think that nail polish is a great and easy way to add to a look.  One of my favorite things is to wear a black dress and have a bright red or pink on my nails to add some color.

Color options are endless when it comes to nails.  And I’m realllly excited for it to be time to use some of my wonderful fall looking colors that haven’t gotten play time in a while.  Yay!
